About FIDO Gear Guide
Photography, a different perspective, and time outdoors.
Meet Jim
I’m Jim Lepard, a photographer, firefighter, and hiker. FIDO Gear Guide brings together my interests in infrared photography, drones, and outdoor equipment.
My photography setup includes a full-spectrum Canon EOS R6 Mark II, and my editing work spans Windows and Linux. Cameras, filters, and the software used to finish an image are all part of the same creative process.
What you’ll find here
This site is a home for gear reviews, setup notes, and practical photography articles. Its focus is Infrared, Drone, and Outdoor: equipment and ideas for exploring, photographing, and seeing familiar places differently.
A clear distinction
A setup article explains the equipment and workflow. A hands-on review adds observations from using that equipment, including limitations. Manufacturer information is identified separately from personal experience.
I also develop photography software under FIDO Software. When an article discusses my own products, that relationship will be clearly stated.
